turnkey means nothing whitout
a procurement plan

Many players forget the essential difference between offering a turnkey service and being able to achieve it: a serious procurement plan.

Our commitment not only consists in finding the right designers, professionals and craftmen to create your interior design project, but also -and most important- to keep steadily in touch with them, following directly each and every step of the procurement plan, from the designer offices to the building site.

This direct commitment “on the field” is at the very heart of our mission and procurement policy: we are well aware that it’s one thing to think about a design project, but it’s quite another to be able to create it.

Thanks to its procurement plan and its expertise, Italian Lab will provide you the right support while working on your interior design project, achieving an harmonious, well balanced and highly detailed final result.

our process

1 – Who we work with

We love working with people who understand and embrace our philosophy. It is a sort of elective affinity, essential for our procurement plan. We give everything in our work, almost like a gift without a price tag. This is why we only work for those who are able to understand what we do and appreciate it. The end product really is a synthesis of ideas, hearts and desires. These need to speak to one another. Without this alchemy, this propulsive two-way energy, we could never achieve the result we seek.

2 – How we work

When we examine an interior design project, we treat it as something to be nurtured, and we devote all of the necessary attention. The starting point for our procurement strategy is the result our customers want to achieve, their wishes and goals. We analyse data and information and consider the best suppliers for the raw materials and services, which are decided on after weighing up all of the options. We choose the solutions most suited, not just to the result we are trying to achieve for the customer, but to the overall budget available to us.

3 – How we produce our working drawings

Even in the era of technology, we do not underestimate the value of drawings done by hand, which encapsulate a sentiment and a message. Our architects then take these drawings and develop them in AutoCad. Production ideas are elaborated on the basis of scale drawings, and here begins the collaborative process between customer and service provider, next step in our procurement plan. Customers are free to approve the design or request changes and tweaks, to create an interior design that reflects their vision.

4 – How we can handle the best pricing and quotation

Quotations and balanced pricing are essential part of our procurement plan, and we process them with the necessary expertise and attention to detail, always starting from a thorough analysis of the project. First and foremost we consider cost optimisation and the customer’s needs, with a view to obtaining a financial saving that has been studied down to the finest detail, to avoid wasting resources. Our task is to come up with a definitive fixed price that leaves no room for unexpected last-minute changes and the resulting additional costs.

5 – How we optimise costs

Costs optimisation, next step of our procurement plan, can only be optimised after first having scrupulously analysed all of the cost factors. All-round market research – into materials, single elements, suppliers, staff, companies – can only stem from a thorough understanding of every aspect of the project and the overall quality the customer wants to achieve. Another aspect not to be underestimated is managing and monitoring timescales for production and suppliers.

6 – How we buy

One last feature of our procurement plan: we do not act as an intermediary so as not to overburden the budget or add in unnecessary steps that further distance customer and supplier. We prefer to act as consultants, discreetly guiding customers in their purchases but leaving all negotiations and decisions up to them. This allows us to save resources that can be better invested in achieving quality, which is our overarching goal.
